Advantages and Disadvantages of Online Courses
The growth of online courses among K 12 students has dramatically increased in recent years. Online courses are usually offered through distance-learning institutions, including schools and colleges, but they can also be offered by software companies that offer the software to their customers. Most online classes, however, are more like in-classroom classes, with the most basic course material being used for the student to learn the basics of an eLearning online course. Students usually take an online course from a computer at home or in a class room where their computer is connected to the Internet. The instructor often conducts virtual chat among themselves, assigns homework assignments, and reviews individual students' assignments after completion. Students can choose whether or not to work with their instructor via email or other means, or if they can communicate only through the Internet.
